Lush Porridge Soap - A Review

I somehow love lush soaps even though they are very expensive and don't do a lot other than smelling great!
Here is a review of another soap from their line - The Porridge Soap.

Description from Website:

Start the day the Goldilocks way with a helping or three of porridge oats. Ideal for sensitive skin; irresistible to everyone else. Oats are soothing for the skin, while orange juice is refreshing. Rise and shine with some delicious porridge.

Price:
Rs 320 per 100 gms

Positives :) :

It is a not a very attractive soap , at least to me. It looks a lot like you have burnt the oats and mixed into the milk and then added loads of sugar.

Why did I choose to buy it? I chose it because of the amazing perfume. Its Soo Soothing. It just felt like having oats porridge back at home. Yummy! and Soothing!

The soap is very very creamy. And let me stress again, this smells like heaven in the shower. It has SLS and therefore lathers quite well.

It has little azuki beans that do a good job of scrubbing my elbows and knees.

I initially thought that after some days, i would be left only with the azuki beans and all the creamy white part would melt off in the water - but i was wrong. The cream and adzuki beans both last.

For Chennai climate, I dont immediately require a moisturizer after using this soap.

Negatives :( :

It melts really fast. Its like bathing with a cup of solidified milk to which oats, sugar and adzuki beans have been mixed. So, you can imagine how fast this soap melts. I make it a point to cut up lush soaps into little squares and use them. The rest of the soap is safely stashed away in a dry cardboard box.

I find adzuki beans a tad more stronger than required for me. This is not the softest of scrub soaps.
One thing that is pretty irritating is finding aduzki beans stuck/trapped in the drain of the bathroom. Who likes cleaning the bathroom immediately after bathing? Uhh!! ? Not at all pretty.. And this very point has turned me against this otherwise awesome soap.

Will I buy this again??

Nopes. Adzuki grains get trapped in the drain and this melts like crazzy..

Rating:

3.0 out of 5.0

A word of advise:

Dont buy this one unless you have someone to clean the bathroom after you take bath.
