Lush Aqua marina: - Review

Lush Aqua marina:

Product Description:
Skin-softening seaweed cleansing wash. Aqua Marina is a calming but effective cleanser and a joy to use. Like a pink mousse wrapped in seaweed, it feels so soft and wobbly that you'll want to play with it, rather than clean your face with it. Smooth it on, rinse it off and your face feels smooth, smells sweet and looks brighter. It has calamine and aloe vera to soothe irritated skin, especially when you've been caught by the sun or the wind. The kaolin cleanses deeply and tightens your skin a little. Immediate result: smoother, softer and firmer skin straight away. Long term result: using Aqua Marina will help to get rid of your skin's toxins and protect it from the wear and tear of daily life.

Ingredients List:

 Comments:
This product comes in a small black standard lush tub.
The smell reminds me of a calm soothing scent that can be sniffed only when near a beach - perfect example that i could think of is besant nagar beach at chennai :)
It is a very very thick soft pinkish paste.
It has green leafy things , that i suppose are sea weed. These act like scrub while washing my face with this one.

How do I use this?
I remove the make up with a face wash,
I take a small bit of this cleanser on my fingers (making sure the fingers are dry) ,
Add few drops of water ,
Make a paste out of the thick cleanser,
Apply on face,
Massage into the face for nearly three mins,
Wash it off with plenty of water.

End Results:
A very very clean face with a very calming / soothing effect.

Positives:) :
* Very soothing and Calming, though scent smells absurd at first, it gives out a very soothing effect afterwards.
* The sea weed act like a very mild scrub and with the first wash itself , you can see the skin glowing.
* After a hot day under the chennai heat, i love using this as it reduces the burns/redness and beats the summer with a big broomstick!! :P
* I believe, this is suitable for both dry and oily skins gals
* We know the ingredients and am glad that this does not foam - no sls :)

Negatives:( :
* Some may not like the scent.
* Sometimes, when the seaweed gets stuck to your hair, and say, you notice it only after few hours, then its really very awkward and difficult to remove them. So, I use the paste parts in the mornings / when i would be going out, and I use the seaweed part when I know I would be inside the home. :)

Will I buy this again:
Yep! Its a must for hot summers! :)

Natural Bath and Body Cleanser: Rose & Patchouli Face Wash - Review

Hey All,

The review is  gonna be about the 'Natural Bath and Body Cleanser: Rose & Patchouli Face Wash'.
I bought this one from urbantouch.com for Rs 220

I could not find a review anywhere on the net (correct me if wrong, and also, let me know the sites/blogs where this product has been reviewed :) )
I bought this product on an impulse to get something different :)

Its a beautiful black colored plastic packaging with a simple paper label in the front. It somehow looks really sophisticated. :)
It has a pump packing and comes with a small transparent lid to cover the pump, which i really like.
The transparent lid is neither very loose, nor tight and i find it very easy to use.

This product claims to be made without any parabens and sulphates .. Whooohooo!! :)
Ingredients are completely listed at the back of the bottle.
Wouldn't it  be great if the Urban touch lists the ingredients (if provided at the back , as in this case..) ? UrbanTouch, take note..

The beautiful pump nozzle. :)

One single pump gives so much and is enough for cleansing the makeup-less face.
The scent of rose is verrry soothing and natural. And the scent remains for a while after washing the face.

Yes, It lathers, but just a little - just enough to make you feel as though you are washing your face (if you know what i mean ) :)

Positives :) :
* No parabens, no sulphates
* Very mild and soothing aroma of natural rose
* One pump is enough for a wash

Negatives :( :
* None! Its absolutely perfect for me and am glad that i tried this one :)

Rating:
4.5/5 (simply cant give a 5/5 to anything.. :P )

My Curent Hair Care Routine

My Hair:

Length: Upto waist
Color:   Brownish Black
Texture: Wavy

Proud of:
Length
Color barring few greys

Not so Proud of :
Frizzzzinnnneessss
Split Ends
Haircut style

I Wash my Hair once every two days.
I apply Olive Oil / Vitamin e / Sesame Oil / Coconut Oil, massage into the hair and scalp for about 15 mins and soak for an hour.
I then wash off the oil with Clinic Plus Shampoo.
I have not yet found my HG conditioner and so I dont use one. They all give me very bad hair fall. And most of them frizz my hair even more. So, After shampooing I apply a coin sized Jojoba oil (Aroma Magic) to my hair and that helps a lott..

I have not yet tried hair masks. What is your suggestion for a hair mask?

What is your hair Care routine? Share your experience, I would love to read them.. :)

Fruit of the day - Papaya

Image taken from google images

Papaya when taken internally,

protects against heart disease
protects against digestive diseases
promotes Lung Health
reduces common symptoms of acute inflammation, such as arthritis and asthma
and has many many more benefits.

Papaya for skin care,

is abundant in anti-oxidants due to the huge concentration of Vitamin A and AHAs which means this is likely to have anti-aging properties.
'Papain' in Papaya is helpful in removing the dead skin cells so applying papaya on the skin will exfoliate your skin. Just take a small piece of papaya and rub it on face after eating the rest of the fruit. Or include it as a scrub cum face pack during facial regime.

:) Yep! I had a piece of papaya today! :)

What fruit did you have today?

Lush KARMA Soap - Review

I love Lush soaps.. and I bought this one lonnng back.. Here is the review for the same.. :)

Description from Website:
Top up your Karma quotient with a quick wash during the day. Karma soap combines our palm-free soap base with an incredibly invigorating Karma fragrance. Buy a big chunk, slice some off for the basin and the kitchen sink, then keep the rest for the shower. There's enough Karma fragrance in each bar to perfume your whole body each time you wash.

Ingredients:
Water (Aqua), Propylene Glycol, Rapeseed Oil; Coconut Oil (Brassica napus; Cocos nucifera), Sodium Stearate, Sodium Lauryl Sulfate, Sodium Hydroxide, Perfume, Patchouli Oil (Pogostemon cablin), Sweet Orange Oil (Citrus sinensis), Lavandin Oil (Lavandula hybrida), Pine Oil (Pinus sylvestris), Lemongrass Oil (Cymbopogon citratus), Elemi Oil (Canarium commune), Glycerine, Sodium Chloride, EDTA, Tetrasodium Etidronate, Gardenia Extract (Gardenia jasminoides), *Citral, *Geraniol, *Citronellol, *Limonene, *Linalool, Colour 18050 * Occurs naturally in essential oils Vegan

Price:
485 INR per 100 gms

Positives :) :

It is a beautiful pinkish-reddish soap with a very good calming and at the same time, an invigorating soap.

It reminds me of puja rooms , and smells to me, more like an agarbaththis. So, If you like the agarbaththi aroma, then probably you would end up liking this soap.

For those who don’t know or don’t remember how agarbaththi smells like, I would relate the smell to a hint of lemon, orange and a lot more of patchouli essence.

It lathers well, and the scent lasts for around an hour or two after bathing.

It does remove dirt and grime to an extent , does not remove the hardcore grease stains.

Negatives :( :

It melts really fast, but not as fast as porridge soap. You would know what I mean if you have used the porridge soap.

I make it a point to cut up lush soaps into little squares and use them. The rest of the soap is safely stashed away in a dry cardboard box.

But still, I find Rs 485 for just two months is a lot!

It makes my skin a little tight and dry, nothing that the moisturizer can not fix, though.

The only thing I actually like about this one is the perfume and that it lasts for quite a while.

This one does not moisturize, does not scrub, in short this one is a normal soap with good aroma.

Will I buy this again??

Nopes.

Rating:

3.5 out of 5.0 (Given the rating for the perfume, this soap can be skipped if you are not much into perfumed soaps.)

How many of you eat fruits every single day?

How many of you make it a point to eat fruits every single day?
Not me..

I love junk food -- samosas, pizza, bonda, masala vadai, dosas are yummm....
But, when it comes to fruits, my face goes all twitchy mostly because, I feel very lazy to eat one!!
Hehehe!!!

So, I have decided to eat a fruit a day.. :)

Today's fruit is Guava.

Pic taken from wiki.

Guavas are rich in dietary, vitamins A and C, folic acid, and the minerals , potassium, copper and manganese. It has low calorie profile and is said to contain four times the Vitamin C as that of Orange.

Now Let us see the uses of Vitamin C. Vitamin C is needed
to make collagen - It is required to produce collagen in normal/increased amounts.
to protect our skin from free radical damage.
Vitamin C is a great anti-oxidant.
But, Vitamin C is prone to oxidation and looses its efficacy. So, probably, the best way to introduce Vitamin C to our system is by taking fruits such as Guava in the diet.

Wow!! I feel so happy to have had a guava..
A smallll step towards improving my junk food habit.:)

So, What is the most healthy food that you have today?
